Customer Counter Recycling Option
More and more customers who buy CFL bulbs are looking to their retailers for convenient recycling solutions. The most popular option includes offering CFL recycling at customer service counters. With this approach, a small box, about the size of a waste can, or a 5-gallon plastic bucket, is placed behind a customer service counter. Such containers will typically hold nearly 50 - 90 CFLs depending on lamp size. Lamps collected at the customer service counter are simply placed in the recycling container. The box is shipped back to the recycler when full.
Sell Consumer Recycling Kits Option
As part of their energy efficiency programs, utilities in some states are starting to fund CFL recycling programs offered by retailers. Please check with your local utility for the availability of funding for CFL recycling or CFL promotional programs. Larger recycling boxes for linear fluorescent tubes are also available for store maintenance or consumer recycling programs.
