2008 CALIFORNIA TITLE 20 A-LINE

2008 California Title 20 A-Line California requires that all general purpose A19, BTT, and TB light bulbs manufactured after January 1, 2008, and sold in the State of California, meet or exceed minimum energy reduction guidelines provided.

GE Consumer & Industrial (Lighting) would like you to be aware of new legislation in the State of California relating to incandescent and halogen lamps. General-purpose Incandescent A19 and Halogen A, BTT, or TB light bulbs manufactured after January 1, 2008, for use in the State of California, must meet or exceed specified minimum energy reduction guidelines.

The following types will be impacted:

Incandescent
  • 40-100W (120V - 130V)
  • Med Screw Base A19
  • All coating variations including Soft White A/W, Clear, Inside Frost
  • Standard and longer life variations
Halogen
  • 60-100W (120V - 130V)
  • Med Screw Base BTT, A-Line, TB
  • Clear, Inside Frost
Excludes
Appliance, Ceiling Fan, 3-Way, Reveal®, Black Light, Bug, Colored, Infrared, Left-Hand Thread, Marine, Mine, Plant, Rough Service, Shatter Resistant, Sign, Silver Bowl, Showcase, Traffic

Beginning January 1, 2008, GE will offer energy-saving, reduced-wattage alternatives for use in the State of California.

Wattage conversions are as follows:
  • 40 Watt > 38 Watt
  • 60 Watt > 57 Watt
  • 75 Watt > 71 Watt
  • 100 Watt > 95 Watt

Product manufactured prior to January 1, 2008 is exempted from regulations and may still be sold, in California, while your supplies last. Typical wattage products (i.e., 40 watt, 60 watt, 75 watt, and 100 watt) may still be sold in all other states. For the reduced-wattage alternatives, all product codes and descriptions will be new.
